I knew Joseph Smith was a prophet when I received a spiritual witness of it.
I visited Temple Square this past Christmas. I had never looked at any of the statues they have out, and this year I decided to stop and take a look. I came across Joseph Smith‘s statue, and it just totally took me off guard. I read the caption they had put below [the statue] and the second I read the part that said, “This is my Beloved Son, Hear Him!” I just got all warm and fuzzy inside.
I wanted to start crying. I wanted to just drop to my knees and pray to my Father in Heaven. I wanted my Book of Mormon right then. I knew in my heart this was true. I knew in my heart Joseph Smith restored the gospel. I knew in my heart he saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I became a true and pure witness of Joseph Smith that night. I love him and am ever-thankful and overjoyed for everything he did.
